Shut Down & Fed Up’s Mission

Shut Down & Fed Up is committed to identifying a path forward that respects our past, celebrates our present and looks confidently towards the future of Klamath Basin agriculture, our communities and our wildlife.

Recently, the Klamath Basin has been at the center of local, regional and national news. Namely, water issues brought on by the perils of single-species management have disrupted the nature, production and health of the farms, ranches, wildlife and communities that have sustained our area for generations.

With that said, we want to make our mission clear for those that have joined our page, shown support for our cause and have been interested in what Shut Down & Fed Up is all about.

  • As farmers, ranchers and Klamath Basin residents, we live through the daily challenges & dead ends which single-species water management has created.
  • We’re committed to keeping our farms farming, our ranches ranching, our wildlife thriving and our communities united.
  • We’re here to ensure there is always an irrigator at the table for water discussions and decisions.
  • We believe there can be balance, consistency, respect and common sense applied to the management of water in the Klamath Basin and across the West.
  • We break through the lies, myths and half-truths that are perpetuated by outside, special-interest groups about our homes and livelihoods.
  • We’re focused on building awareness, cultivating relationships and identifying solutions for sustainable water management.
  • We provide first-hand representation for the thousands of families and species whose lives depend on ag in the Klamath Basin.

We are grateful for your support as we stand up for our communities. We are committed to identifying a path forward that respects our past, celebrates our present and looks confidently towards the future of ag in the Klamath Basin.
