We Need Volunteers

Want to help with the Convoy For Change? Here’s how you can get involved.

May 29th is quickly approaching, and as we are getting closer we need help. If you are at all interested in helping with the Convoy For Change, there’s a few ways you can get involved.

Join the Convoy. We need as many people as possible to show up. Do you think you need to be a Project farmer or have a tractor? Great news – you don’t! Anyone can join us with a car or pickup – farm equipment not necessary.

The communities of Klamath, Modoc and Siskiyou counties will be drastically affected by a July shut-down of irrigation. Whether you’re in Bonanza, Chiloquin, Alturas, Dorris – this shut-down will affect you. Doesn’t even matter if you’re a family farmer or rancher. Our communities are tied to all aspects of ag; if one of us is removed from the picture, all businesses and communities in the Klamath Basin region will feel the effect.

So please consider joining us. Show up in whatever car or pickup you drive to work, paint a sign that shares how this will affect your family or business, and join us.

If you plan to join the Convoy, let us know by dropping a line to info@shutdownfedup.org with what kind of and how many vehicle(s) you intend to bring.

Paint Signs. Do you have a message you’d like President Trump and his administration to see? Are you frustrated with the fact after 20 years of higher river and lake levels our fish and farms are hurting? Put it on a sign! Even if you don’t plan on joining the Convoy, we need signs for all the cars, pickups, semis and tractors that are going to be there.

If you do paint a few signs but don’t plan to join us, let us know. We can figure out how to get your sign to someone in the Convoy so they can help spread the message of our protest.

Join one of our volunteer groups. As you can imagine, a peaceful protest of this scale needs a lot of people to help pull it off. We need folks who are willing to help plant crosses for our monument, keep traffic under control, hand-out fliers and set up staging areas to join us.

If you have the time, we’d love your help. Email us at info@shutdownfedup.org, let us know how you’d like to help and someone on our committee will get in touch with you. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated and help protect the rural communities of the Klamath Basin.
